Our Philosophy

“Ichigo Ichie”
– A Japanese Philosophy of the Moment

“Ichigo Ichie” (pronounced ee-chee-go ee-chee-eh) is a beautiful Japanese phrase that means:

“One moment, one meeting.”

It reminds us that every moment is unique — and will never happen in the same way again.
Even if we meet the same people again, that moment will never be exactly the same.

So, we should:

Treasure the present moment
Treat each encounter with care and respect
Live fully, here and now

This idea is often practiced in the tea ceremony.
When you share tea with someone, it is more than just drinking — it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
